Snowdrop's Best Practice Evaluation programme is a series of evaluation days conducted by experienced HR managers/directors who also benefit from an exceptional in-depth knowledge of Snowdrop solutions and software implementations in general. It was launched in January 2006 following workshops designed to uncover the reasons behind our most successful implementations. We defined 'success' as where the client could clearly pinpoint significant improvements in HR effectiveness since implementation.

Projects seemed to be the most successful when Snowdrop had helped clients to focus on their core objectives at the beginning of the project and suggested ways to gain the best possible outcome. In particular we felt that clients experienced the most return when technology was harnessed as part, but not all, of the overall solution.

So we agreed that formalising this process, so that it could be utilised by all clients, could make a huge difference to every project.

Example Problem & Solution
During a BP evaluation we found that a client wishing to address absence was actually intending to introduce and almost replicate almost all the functionality surrounding absence in its previous system. On further investigation we also found that the current data was inaccurate. After BP evaluation the client took a completely different approach by: devolving some responsibility to line managers; creating uniform absence reasons and reports; providing automated e-mail alerts for patterns of absence and even making some amendments to the absence policy itself.
