Payroll has a Dim View of HR
Payroll World, June 2006

The payroll profession has a low opinion of its HR counterparts, according to research by software provider Snowdrop.

The survey of 255 HR and 190 payroll professionals revealed that more than 60% of payroll professionals think HR fails to give them accurate information. Nearly one-third think HR is too slow in responding to its requests.

By contrast, more than three-quarters of HR think payroll gives accurate information and 91% agree that payroll is quick to respond to HR’s requests.

John Heath, head of compensation and benefits at food retailer Elior commented: ’As legislation and technology has developed over the years there is a need for both HR and payroll to work in tandem. Conflict usually arises with something minor that escalates out of control which then creates barriers and communication breakdowns.’
