Snowdrop Systems was voted among the 50 Best Small Companies to Work for March 2004 Happy workers at a software firm are celebrating after it won a special honour. Snowdrop Systems of Witney was voted among the 50 Best Small Companies to Work for in a survey by The Sunday Times. Judges praised the fast-growing firm for encouraging staff to have fun while they work and train, with most staff saying managers support them in learning new skills. One of the initiatives is a Big Brother-style reward room where staff can choose from a range of gifts or activities such as paintballing days. Marketing executive James Addicott said: "Working here is a lot of fun and we are encouraged to take courses to develop and learn." The recognition follows the company's ranking in the recent Deloitte and Touche annual Fast 50 Technology Awards, a list of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the South East. Snowdrop specialises in human resources software for companies including The National Assembly for Wales, pub firm Greene King, food chain Pret a Manger and Oxford-based motor group, Hartwell. It employs 80 people, having recruited 20 staff in the last 18 months and is looking for up to five more software trainers. Chief executive Michael Richards said: "It's a tremendous honour to receive an award based on nominations by our staff. It has always been Snowdrop's vision to recruit talented individuals who enjoy their work and add value to the company through their fresh ideas and enthusiasm. "Our recent growth would not have been possible without their hard work and commitment, and I'm extremely proud that we have achieved so much." |
