The Legal Essentials service is designed to ensure you have a suitable set of HR and/or H&S documents in place to help you manage the employment lifecycle, in line with legislation. This service incorporates new starter documentation, terms & conditions of employment, an employee handbook and a choice of best practice policies and procedures that will be tailored to your organisation. You can choose to have only the legal minimum of policies and procedures, or you may opt for a whole range of best practice policies – either way, we will ensure you know how to use them once you have them!

Where you already have policies and procedures in place, a fully qualified CIPD professional will conduct a health check audit to determine the amount of work required. Following the health check, you will receive a report summary with prioritised recommendations and a suggested implementation and support plan. A dedicated HR Consultant will then work with you to bring your HR function up to speed.

We also provide a retainer service to complement the Legal Essentials service. The retainer service helps your company stay up-to-date with new and revised legislation and gives you a timely source of advice whenever you have a query about a process, a point of law or how to handle a difficult situation. This service provides the following:
  • Updates to your documentation master policy: this will take the form of complete section updates for you to issue to staff and insert into your master documents
  • E-mail and telephone advice through your Snowdrop HR Advisor, who will be your main point of contact going forward.
  • Regular reports to highlight the use of the helpline service, detailing time spent on different issues and any HR/business implications and remedial actions to be taken
  • A route to a Legal HR and H&S Helpline for employment and commercial law queries
  • Proactive follow-up to ensure clients are not left unsupported when implementing advice
